There's nothing particularly fancy about it - no visitor centre, no cafe - just quiet forest and the occasional sound of a bird or rustling undergrowth.

It's ideal for walkers who want a solid hour or two among the trees without needing to navigate a major tourist attraction. Families with kids old enough to manage uneven ground will get something out of it; younger ones might flag on the steeper sections. The views open up as you climb higher, looking back towards Ilkley and the moors beyond. Worth noting that parking isn't obvious and the paths can get muddy after rain - proper walking boots make a difference.
