The brewery sits just outside Clackmannan, and if you're staying at either Witches Craig or Highland Gateway, it's a straightforward drive. Harviestoun produces proper Scottish ales - the kind that taste like someone actually knows what they're doing with hops and malt. You can visit the operation itself, see the brewing process happen, and taste what comes out the other end. It's not a massive tourist attraction with gift shops the size of small villages; it's a working brewery that lets you in to have a look around.

This works best if you're genuinely interested in beer or you've got someone in the group who gets animated about fermentation processes. Kids will find it dull after fifteen minutes unless they're the type who enjoy industrial processes. The tour takes about an hour, maybe ninety minutes if you chat with the staff, and you'll get to try some of their output - which is the whole point really.

Bring a tenner or two for a pint at the end. The brewery does tastings and you can usually buy bottles to take back to your caravan, which beats a trip to the shop. Go mid-week if you can - weekends draw a slightly livelier crowd but the place feels less pressured when it's quieter. It's the sort of stop that slots nicely into a broader day out in Clackmannanshire, not the reason you'd book a week's holiday, but absolutely worth the detour if beer matters to you.
