Headon Warren Barrow

Bronze Age burial mounds don't get much more atmospheric than this grassy hump overlooking the Solent. The barrow sits on Headon Warren, part of the Isle of Wight's dramatic western coastline near Totland Bay, where ancient burial practices meet spectacular sea views.

What you're looking at is roughly 3,000 years of history - a simple earthwork that once covered a Bronze Age burial. The site is free to visit and always accessible, though the exposed position means it can be properly windy. Allow twenty minutes unless you're planning a longer ramble along the warren.
