Walkers will get the most from this one. It's not a manicured country park experience - more a genuine forest walk with space to breathe. Allow a couple of hours minimum if you're doing the full loop; an hour works if you just want a quick stomp. The best time is late spring through early autumn when the canopy's full and the light filters through properly.

It won't set your pulse racing with rare birds or dramatic topography, but that's rather the point. Families with older kids and dogs will be content here. Younger children might find it a bit samey after half an hour unless they're the type to get excited about spotting wildlife.
