Walk into Hill Plantation and you're surrounded by proper Norfolk woodland - the kind of place where you can actually hear yourself think. This works best for walkers after a bit of peace and quiet, or families keen to let the kids burn off energy among the trees. You won't find visitor facilities or fancy interpretation boards here - it's straightforward woodland rambling. Bring decent boots if there's been rain; the ground gets soft and muddy in places. Allow an hour or two depending on how deep you want to venture in.

Locally it sits well within striking distance of the glamping circuit around these parts. Wild Luxury and Applewood are both close enough for a morning walk before heading back for breakfast, and Searles Leisure Resort is only a few miles away if you're basing yourself there instead. The woodland gives you that forest-bathing moment without needing to drive far from your accommodation.

It's not a destination that'll hold your attention for a full day, but as part of a broader Norfolk holiday where you're mixing glamping with walking and local exploration, it fills a gap nicely. Go early if you can - you'll have it more or less to yourself.
