This ordinary-looking cottage in Budleigh Salterton, near Chippenham, served as the fictional home of Professor Horace Slughorn in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The production crew transformed the peaceful Wiltshire property into the scene where Harry and Dumbledore find the Potions master hiding in plain sight.

Harry Potter fans will recognise the distinctive exterior from the film's opening scenes. There's not much to actually do here - it's someone's private home after all - but devoted Potterheads seem content snapping photos from the public road. The house looks perfectly normal when not dressed for filming, which rather suits Slughorn's character.

Children familiar with the films might enjoy the brief stop, though don't expect to linger more than ten minutes. The location works well as a quick detour if you're exploring the Wiltshire countryside or staying at one of the nearby holiday parks like Piccadilly Caravan Park or Devizes Camping and Caravanning Club Site.
