iQuatics is an indoor water park just outside Leek, offering a proper escape from the Staffordshire weather. You get a decent-sized pool complex with flumes, slides, and shallow areas for younger kids - the sort of place where a rainy afternoon suddenly becomes a reason to visit rather than something to endure.

The appeal here is straightforward: families with children under ten will get proper value from it. Toddlers can splash about in the shallow end while older kids burn off energy on the slides. Adults might find an hour enough unless you're genuinely into lap swimming, but families often stretch it to two or three hours without complaints.

Admission isn't free, but it's reasonably priced for what you get. Bring a towel and change of clothes - lockers are available. The water's warm, the facilities are clean, and staff know what they're doing. Best to avoid school holidays unless you fancy queuing for the slides.

If you're camping at Leek Camping and Caravanning Club Site, Blackshaw Moor, or any of the caravan parks within a few miles, iQuatics works as a half-day activity between exploring the Peak District proper. It's not a destination by itself - you're not making a pilgrimage to Staffordshire just for this. But as part of a camping trip where the kids need indoor entertainment or you want to break up a day of walking, it does the job. Leek itself is worth a poke around for independent shops and a decent market square, so you could easily combine the two.
