King's Church Eden

The Church of St Andrew in Eden, just outside Penrith, is one of those places you stumble upon rather than plan for. Free to visit, though you might need to ask locally for keys if the door's locked. Allow twenty minutes unless you're genuinely into medieval architecture, in which case longer. Best in dry weather when you can actually see the stonework properly. It's the sort of church that rewards a quiet visit rather than rushed tourism.
