Nolton Haven United Reformed Church

The little white-washed chapel sits right on the coastal path above Nolton Haven, commanding views across Cardigan Bay that'll stop you mid-stride. This is a proper working United Reformed Church, not a museum piece, and it retains that intimate, lived-in quality that comes from centuries of local worship.

Inside, it's bare and honest - simple wooden pews, whitewashed walls, the sort of light that pours through small windows and makes you want to sit quietly for a bit. There's no visitor centre, no interpretation boards, no admission fee. You turn up, the door's usually open, and you spend as long as you fancy taking it in.

It works best for walkers using the coastal path between Haverfordwest and the beaches further south. History enthusiasts might appreciate the age of the place, though there's little to read on-site. Families with young children tend to find it a quick stop rather than a destination - ten minutes is often enough unless the weather's decent and you want to linger for the views.

The church sits roughly midway between Newgale Coast Holiday Park and Newgale Campsite, both excellent bases if you're doing a week along the Pembrokeshire coast. Pop in as part of a wider walk rather than planning a dedicated trip. The real appeal is the setting and the sense of stepping into something unrushed and genuinely local, not the building itself.
