Noodle's Dog Park

Your dog will remember Noodle's Dog Park far longer than you will. It's a straightforward affair on the outskirts of Coalbrookdale - basically an off-lead run where dogs can burn off energy without the lead attached. Nothing fancy, no obstacles or agility equipment, just space for your mutt to chase a ball and socialise with other dogs.

This is purely functional. You'll spend twenty minutes here, maybe thirty if your spaniel is particularly sociable. The appeal is obvious if you're caravan camping at Sytche or Irongorge - both within spitting distance - and your dog needs a proper leg stretch after a drive. It's free admission (we think, though the website situation is unclear), and there's nowhere to sit about reading a paper while your labrador does laps.

Who gets the most from it? Dog owners, obviously. People staying at the nearby holiday parks who've driven four hours and have a pooch going spare. Families with energetic dogs will appreciate the chance to let them off without worrying about traffic. If you're dog-free or travelling with a cat, skip it entirely.

It works as a quick stop while exploring the Ironbridge area - you can combine it with a proper walk along the Severn or a visit to the museums nearby. But don't plan your holiday around it. Treat it as a useful tick-box for canine sanity rather than a destination in itself.
