Old Decoy Pond

The pond itself is accessible enough, though there's no fancy visitor centre or café - just the water, the birds, and whatever the light is doing that day.

Bringbinoculars if you've got them. Early morning or dusk is obviously best for spotting anything decent, though grebes, teal, and the occasional heron turn up year-round. It's free to visit and takes twenty minutes minimum, longer if you're the type to sit quietly and actually watch things rather than just tick them off. It works well as part of a broader Dorset itinerary - slot it in between Wareham town itself and the heathland walks that make this corner of the county worth visiting. The caravan parks nearby have good access to it, though you'll need your own transport. Honestly, it's less "attraction" and more "nice place to pause and remember why you came to this part of the world in the first place."
