Walking into Old Wood near Loughborough feels like stepping back about two hundred years. This isn't some manicured country estate - it's proper ancient woodland, the kind where you half expect to bump into a forester from medieval times. The trees are genuinely old, gnarled things that have been doing their thing for centuries.

What you get here is straightforward: woodland paths that meander through established broadleaf forest. There's shade, there's greenery, and there's the kind of quiet you can't buy.
