Paradise Park

Paradise Park sits just outside Uny Lelant, a sprawling tropical bird sanctuary that's genuinely impressive if you've got the time and patience for it. The whole place is built around viewing aviaries where you can watch parrots, macaws, and other exotic birds in settings designed to feel less like cages and more like their natural habitat. It's a proper walk around the grounds - bring decent shoes.

Families with young children tend to get the most mileage here. There's enough to keep them occupied for a solid three hours, though it can drag if the birds aren't cooperating and showing themselves. The place has feeding experiences and interactive bits, which breaks up the "standing and looking" element. Adults who actually care about bird conservation or ornithology will find it worthwhile; everyone else might feel the entry fee is a bit steep depending on what they charge these days.

The park's a decent stopgap if you're based at one of the nearby holiday parks - Haven Riviere Sands is barely over a mile away, and St. Ives Holiday Village only 1.7 miles off. Combine it with a morning at Godrevy Lighthouse or an afternoon in St. Ives itself rather than making it your entire day out. Weather matters here more than most attractions, so go when it's dry. The tropical houses are fine in rain, but the outdoor aviaries lose their appeal when everything's grey and damp.
