Pinnacle Hill

Standing at 425 metres, this peak forms part of the Malvern Hills ridge and delivers some of the best views across Worcestershire without the crowds that swarm the main Malvern peaks. The walk up takes about 30 minutes from the nearest car park, following well-marked paths through bracken and gorse.

Families with older children will find it manageable - it's steep enough to feel like proper hiking but not so brutal that anyone will be gasping for air. The summit itself is fairly compact, topped with a small cairn and offering panoramic views towards Worcester to the east and the Welsh borders to the west on clear days.

What sets Pinnacle Hill apart from its more famous neighbours is the relative peace. While the Worcestershire Beacon gets packed on weekends, you might have this spot largely to yourself, especially on weekday mornings. The views are honestly just as good.

Walkers staying at nearby sites like Malvern Hills Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite or Blackmore Camping and Caravanning Club Site will find this makes a cracking half-day excursion. Pack a flask - there's something properly satisfying about having your tea at the top while surveying the Severn Valley spread out below. Just mind the wind on exposed days; it can be fierce up there.
