RAF Greenham Common

Today you can walk the perimeter, spot the old runways, and peer at the remaining structures - some fenced off, others accessible.

Historians will find it genuinely interesting. The Peace Camp monument marks where protesters camped for years, and there's real substance to the stories here. Families with older kids might enjoy the walk and the chance to discuss what the Cold War actually meant, though younger children will struggle to connect with the significance.
