The Railway Exhibition Hall sits just outside Arundel, housed in what feels like a proper old railway building - all brick and purpose-built character. Inside, you're surrounded by model railways, vintage locomotives, and an obsessive collection of railway memorabilia that'll either captivate you for hours or bore you stiff depending on your tolerance for train talk.

It's the kind of place where railway enthusiasts genuinely lose track of time. The scale models are impressive, some incredibly detailed, and there's usually someone tinkering with the layouts or running demonstrations. Kids who've had the "Thomas the Tank Engine" phase might find it interesting for 45 minutes, but this isn't a hands-on experience - you're looking at displays behind glass.

The real draw here is for adults who actually know their Flying Scotsman from their Mallard. If you're a serious train spotter or have a partner who's into heritage railways, it's worth a stop. Combine it with a walk around Arundel itself - the castle grounds are free to roam, and the riverside is lovely.
