The Dog Park at Soham is exactly what it says on the tin - a dedicated space where your dog can properly stretch its legs without a lead. It's flat, fenced, and honest in its simplicity. You won't find themed installations or clever landscaping here. What you get is a chance for your dog to run about with other dogs, chase a ball, and burn off energy while you stand about chatting to other dog owners or reading your book.

That said, it works. The ground is decent underfoot even after rain, and locals clearly maintain it. The surrounding countryside catches your eye - typical Cambridgeshire fens, all open sky and agricultural land. Come on a quieter weekday morning if you want a peaceful experience. Weekends can get crowded with families and enthusiastic labradors.

For holiday park visitors staying nearby - Hatters Meadows and Trelander Camping are both within shouting distance - this is the sort of thing you'd pop to for 45 minutes between other activities rather than plan a special trip around. Ely itself is close enough for a proper day out if you want cathedral and riverside walks instead. The park works best for families with dogs who need a reliable spot to burn off steam.
