Splashzone is Pwllheli's main swimming pool, and if you're staying at Haven Hafan y Môr or one of the other caravan parks dotted around this stretch of Gwynedd coast, it's exactly the sort of thing that keeps kids entertained when the Welsh weather turns damp. The facility has indoor pools and a decent splash area for younger swimmers - the kind of place where you can burn off energy on a rainy afternoon without driving forty minutes to find something decent.

It's very much a local leisure centre rather than a destination attraction. Useful, straightforward, gets the job done. You're looking at a couple of hours maximum, depending on the age of your kids and how much they actually like swimming lessons. The pool is warm enough, staff are friendly, and it's the sort of facility you'd expect in a market town like Pwllheli - functional rather than fancy.

If you're holidaying at Hafan y Môr, it's practically on your doorstep. For guests at Llwyn Ffynnon or Gimblet Rock, it's a short drive. Worth knowing about, especially if you've got young children, but don't go out of your way expecting anything spectacular.
