If you're camping at Eden Valley Glamping or Drybeck Farm - both within a couple of miles - this works as a pleasant morning walk rather than a destination in itself. Combine it with exploring Carlisle's proper attractions - the castle and cathedral are worth far more of your time. Allow thirty minutes maximum unless you're genuinely into Victorian church architecture, in which case the craftsmanship rewards a closer look.
