You'll find St Tysilio sitting on a small island just off the coast near New Quay, accessible by a narrow causeway when the tide permits. It's a medieval church that feels properly remote - the kind of place where you can actually hear the waves and gulls rather than traffic. The building itself is modest, whitewashed stone with a squat tower, but the setting more than makes up for what it lacks in architectural drama. There's a simple graveyard around it, and the views across Cardigan Bay are genuinely good, especially on a clear afternoon.

This works best for walkers and anyone after a bit of solitude rather than families wanting quick entertainment - kids will manage the short walk from the car park but won't find much to occupy them for long. Give yourself forty minutes to an hour if you're treating it as a proper stop, longer if you bring a camera or just want to sit and take in the quiet. The causeway means you need to check tide times before you go, which adds a bit of adventure to it.

Staying at one of the nearby camping parks - Ty Rhos Farm or Penrhyn Farm are closest - gives you easy access to this and the wider Ceredigion coast. New Quay itself is a proper little seaside town with restaurants and shops, so you won't be stuck for an evening out. St Tysilio won't take up your whole day, but as part of a coastal walk or a morning's tootling about, it's well worth the detour.
