Thoulstone Dog Park

Your dog will lose its mind the moment you arrive at Thoulstone Dog Park, just outside Warminster in Wiltshire. It's a straightforward setup - open space where dogs can properly run about without the lead, chase a ball, and do all the things they dream about. Nothing fancy, but that's rather the point.

The park works brilliantly if you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks - Hidden Wood Glamping is barely a mile away, and if you're based at Center Parcs Longleat Forest or tackling the safari at Longleat itself, this becomes your essential midweek break from the attractions. Your dog gets proper exercise, you get peace and quiet, everyone's happy.

It's the sort of place walkers often pass through without thinking much about it, but if you've got a spaniel or a retriever that's been cooped up in a holiday lodge, they'll drag you back here daily. Allow twenty minutes to half an hour if your dog's sensible, longer if they're the type who befriends every other dog in sight.

Warminster's a proper little market town if you need supplies or a decent pub after - The Angel or The Royal Oak will sort you out. The park itself doesn't charge for entry, far as we can tell, which is welcome when you're already spending on holiday parks. Go mid-week mornings if you want fewer dogs around, though honestly the place thrives on that canine chaos.
