Trethorne Leisure Park

Trethorne sits just outside Launceston and is one of those proper family-friendly spots that keeps kids entertained for a solid afternoon without requiring a second mortgage. You've got go-kart racing that actually feels quick enough to be exciting, mini golf that's genuinely challenging rather than a pushover, and a trampoline park if the weather turns grim. The place has that working holiday park vibe - not fancy, but it does what it says on the tin.

The go-karts are the main draw. Queues can build during school holidays, but midweek in term time you'll barely wait. Even adults find themselves surprisingly competitive on the track. Mini golf is decent enough, though the windmill hole is a bit naff. The indoor activities mean you're not completely stuffed if the Cornish drizzle shows up.

It's absolutely worth combining with a stay at either Trewithen Farm or Ekopod - both are just a few miles away and offer that glamping thing without the mud. The glamping spots are genuinely lovely if you want something less chaotic than Trethorne itself. Half a day here is realistic; a full day if you've got kids aged five to twelve who want to try everything twice.

One warning: parking can get tight on bank holidays. Arrive early or accept you'll be parked in the overspill field. The facilities are clean and the staff unfussy. It's the kind of place that doesn't try to be anything other than what it is - and that's actually refreshing.
