The farm sits just outside Bridgnorth and does what a good working farm should - lets you get stuck in with the animals rather than just gawping at them through glass. Vallets Farm Barn is the sort of place where kids actually learn something without realising they're being educated, which is the whole point really.

You'll find yourself mucking about with goats, sheep, and whatever else the farmers have decided to keep that week. It's hands-on stuff - feeding time, petting, the lot. The barn itself is exactly what you'd expect: ramshackle in the best way, smelling of hay and honest farm work. Not Instagram-ready, but genuinely interesting if you're after something real rather than polished.

This works brilliantly for families with younger kids who still think farm animals are the height of entertainment. Teenagers will probably find it a bit basic after twenty minutes, and adults without children in tow might struggle to justify the visit. The beauty of it is you can combine it with a stay at one of the local caravan parks - Park Grange Holidays or Sytche Caravan & Camping Park are both within reasonable distance - and make it part of a proper Shropshire trip rather than a standalone destination.

Bring wellies. Always bring wellies to a working farm. The place doesn't pretend to be anything fancy, and that's precisely why it works.
