About Woodhenge
The site itself takes about twenty minutes to walk round properly. There's an elevated viewing platform that gives you a sense of the circle's scale, though on a grey Wiltshire day it can feel a bit underwhelming - just posts and grass and sheep in the distance. But if you're already out visiting Stonehenge from Salisbury, it's absolutely worth the short detour. Walkers and archaeology enthusiasts will find it genuinely interesting; small children will probably get bored after ten minutes.
Admission appears to be free, and you can access it any time. If you're camping nearby at Stonehenge Campsite & Glamping, combine both sites into a proper morning of Neolithic exploration. Go early, avoid the Stonehenge crowds, and you'll have Woodhenge almost to yourself. The landscape tells you more than either monument alone - you're standing in a ceremonial landscape that mattered enormously to people we barely understand.
