Wookey Hole Caves And Mill

Deep underground passages carved by the River Axe over millions of years create one of Britain's most dramatic cave systems. The guided tour takes you through a series of chambers where limestone formations drip from every surface - some look like curtains, others like organ pipes. Your guide spins tales about the legendary Witch of Wookey Hole, supposedly turned to stone and still visible in Chamber Three.

Above ground, the Victorian paper mill still operates using traditional methods. You can watch handmade paper being created and browse the various exhibitions scattered around the site.
