Wyken makes wine here - actual drinkable wine, not the sort of experiment you're charitable about at a village fête. The estate itself is the draw rather than any single building or view. You're looking at working vineyards in a landscape that doesn't often get credit for producing anything beyond beetroot and barley. The wines are sold on-site, and they do tastings if you've booked ahead - essential, really, because this isn't the sort of place you turn up to on a whim and find the cellar door open.

Best suited to adults who actually care about wine or farming, or couples after an afternoon out from Diss way. Kids will tolerate the walk for about forty minutes before asking when you can leave. The vineyard restaurant does food too, which helps justify the trip beyond just the vines.

Arthur's Retreat is your closest base at 2.4 miles away - that motorhome campsite gets solid reviews - or Bright Meadow if you need caravan pitches a bit further out. Either works as a staging point for exploring this corner of Suffolk. Go in late summer when the grapes are actually doing something interesting, not in March when it's all rather brown and dormant.
