Y Mynegbost

A stone marker standing alone on the moorland above Llanwrtyd Wells, Y Mynegbost is one of those Welsh landmarks that stops you mid-walk and makes you wonder who bothered to haul it up here in the first place. It's a Bronze Age standing stone, plain and purposeful, with views across the Towy Valley that stretch for miles on a clear day. The walk to reach it takes about forty minutes from the town, climbing steadily through open country with nothing but sheep and the occasional grouse for company.

You don't need much time once you're there - five minutes to catch your breath, take a photo, and read the information board if you've got the energy. It's the journey that matters, really.
