Stayed here as two very experienced campers and outdoor enthusiasts. The location is excellent — ideal for walking, and perfectly placed for the Peaks, which are literally on the doorstep. That’s without question the site’s strongest asset. However, the pitches are a serious let-down. I camped in Winter. Ground was a little waterlogged but perfectly fine to pitch a tent. I used a ground cover. Staff were friendly. Hot showers, good wash up area for cleaning pots. Quiet and amazing scenery. Great walks starting from the site.
