Market day still draws proper crowds to this ancient Worcestershire town, where centuries-old timber frames line the broad high street and the Abbey's tower watches over everything. Pershore wears its history well - you'll spot Georgian frontages hiding medieval bones, and the whole place has that unhurried feel of somewhere that's never needed to shout about itself.

St Mary the Virgin Church anchors the town centre, its Norman stonework a reminder that people have been gathering here for nearly a thousand years. The weekly market still happens much as it always has, though these days you're more likely to find artisan bread than livestock. Abbey Park stretches alongside the River Avon, perfect for an afternoon stroll when the high street gets busy.

Castle Hill offers cracking views across the Vale of Evesham if you fancy a proper walk, while Grafton Wood Nature Reserve provides gentler terrain for spotting wildlife. The countryside here is proper Worcestershire - rolling fields, ancient hedgerows, and that big sky feeling that comes with being in the heart of England. Fiddler's Knap gives you another excellent vantage point over the surrounding farmland.

Reaching Pershore couldn't be easier - it sits right on the A44 between Worcester and Evesham, with decent rail connections to Birmingham and beyond. The town makes an excellent base for exploring the wider Vale of Evesham, famous for its plums and asparagus, while the Malvern Hills rise temptingly to the west. Several holiday parks dot the surrounding countryside, giving you that rural feel while keeping Pershore's shops, pubs, and restaurants within easy reach.
