About Boc Mor
This is a walk for experienced hikers rather than families wanting a gentle afternoon stroll. The ridge has scrambling sections that aren't technical but do require sure footing and a head for heights. Boots aren't optional - the ground is boggy in places and loose scree can catch you out. Start early; the weather moves fast through the Highlands, and you'll want daylight when things get tricky.
Perfect if you're based at Glenshiel Campsite, just a few miles down the road. The campsite makes an excellent jumping-off point for serious hill walking in the area. Ben Mor itself is free, as are most Scottish mountains, but it'll cost you effort and concentration. Worth every step if peaks and proper views are what you came for.
