Clerkenhill Adventure Farm & Frizbee Golf Course

Two things happen at Clerkenhill, just outside Haverfordwest: you can run about on an adventure farm, and you can play frisbee golf. It's the sort of place that works brilliantly if you've got restless kids and a couple of hours to kill, less so if you're after a full day out.

The adventure farm side has the standard stuff - animals to see, things to climb on, the kind of activity that keeps under-tens occupied without requiring much planning. Frisbee golf is exactly what it sounds like: you throw a disc at targets scattered across the grounds instead of whacking a ball. It's a daft amount of fun, actually, and adults often enjoy it more than kids do. No special skill required, just a willingness to look a bit silly.

Location-wise, it's handy if you're camped at Quarry Park or Bluestone Resort - both within a few minutes' drive. Those two are your closest bets, though Oaklea and Hungerford Farm are only a few miles further if you've already booked there. It pairs well with the wider Pembrokeshire setup: do this for an afternoon when the weather's iffy, then tackle the proper coastal walks on a better day.

The farm works best for families with younger children. Teenagers will find it a bit thin unless they're actually keen on frisbee golf, which some are. Opening hours and admission prices aren't widely advertised, so ring ahead or check their website before turning up - nothing worse than driving out expecting to find the gates open.
