Coneygree Wood

Ancient beech trees tower overhead like cathedral pillars, their canopy so thick that even bright summer days feel mysteriously muted here. Coneygree Wood sits just outside Ledbury, a proper old-growth forest that feels worlds away from the manicured countryside beyond its edges.

Walking the woodland paths feels like stepping back centuries. The forest floor stays soft underfoot year-round, carpeted with decades of fallen leaves that muffle your steps. Dense undergrowth creates natural hideaways that children love exploring, though parents should keep little ones close - it's easy to lose your bearings among the identical-looking tree trunks.
