Dunluce Centre

The Dunluce Centre sits right in Bushmills, that wee town famous for its whiskey, and it's basically your go-to spot for understanding the wider Causeway Coast area without having to leg it all over the place. It's an indoor exhibition space covering local history, geology, and culture - the sort of thing that makes sense on a rainy afternoon when the coast is properly battered by wind.

You'll get the most from it if you're interested in how the Giant's Causeway actually formed, or what life was like for people living along this stretch of coast. Kids won't spend hours here, but it's decent enough as a half-hour stop, especially if you're already in Bushmills for a distillery tour. The exhibition handles everything from the volcanic basalt columns to more recent heritage.

It works well as part of a proper Causeway Coast loop. You could easily combine it with the Giant's Causeway itself (just down the road), then head back to base at somewhere like Causeway Country Pods a few miles out. That pod site is genuinely lovely for families wanting to explore the area without being stuck in a hotel.

The centre itself is free or very cheap - typical museum pricing - though I'd suggest checking opening hours before you go, as smaller visitor centres can be a bit temperamental with their times. On a full day exploring the coast, this is worth twenty minutes of your time.
