Hillview Llamas

You'll spot them before you even get out of the car - a small herd of llamas dotted across the fields just outside Frodsham. Hillview Llamas is a straightforward affair: a working llama farm where you can meet the animals up close, feed them, and watch them do what llamas do best, which is mostly ignore you with magnificent indifference.

It's the sort of place that works brilliantly for young kids who want something hands-on without the crowds of a proper zoo. Expect to spend an hour, maybe ninety minutes if the llamas are cooperative and your children are the chatty sort. The animals are generally docile and used to visitors, though like all livestock they're unpredictable - so manage expectations accordingly. Feeding time is the main event, and it's genuinely entertaining watching a llama's face as it investigates your outstretched hand.

The location is genuinely useful for caravan holidays in the area. You're within spitting distance of Lady Heyes Holiday Park and Cheshire Glamping, both less than a mile away, which makes this a decent rainy-day option or an easy morning activity before heading to Delamere Forest or one of the lake parks further out. It's not a destination in itself - you wouldn't drive two hours just for this - but paired with other attractions around Frodsham and the broader Cheshire countryside, it fills a gap nicely.

Bring waterproofs. Llama farms are muddy by nature, and the Cheshire weather won't cooperate just because you've planned a visit.
