Walking into Kentmere Hall Plantation feels like stepping into someone else's garden - which, technically, you are. This forest sits just outside Windermere and offers proper woodland walking without the crowds you'd find at Catbells or the major Lake District hotspots.

Instead you get well-maintained paths threading through mixed woodland - conifers mixed with deciduous trees that shift colour beautifully through the seasons.
