Flying a hawk on your own gloved arm might sound like something out of a fantasy novel, but Kintail Birds of Prey near Taynuilt makes it happen. This is a working falconry centre where you get hands-on with proper birds of prey - not a petting zoo with clipboards and guides keeping you at arm's length.

You'll need to book ahead, no walk-ins allowed, which tells you straightaway that this is serious stuff. The whole experience revolves around you actually handling the birds and understanding how these creatures work.
