National Trust - Toys Hill

Toys Hill sits at 800 feet, the highest point in the Weald of Kent, and the views across the Sussex Weald from up here are genuinely arresting on a clear day. You're looking at proper open countryside - nothing cluttered, just rolling fields dropping away toward the South Downs. The National Trust owns the land around here, so it's managed for walkers and anyone who fancies a bit of fresh air.

There's no visitor centre or cafe, which means it won't feel touristy. You get a car park at the top near Edenbridge - about ten minutes from the village itself - and from there it's easy to potter around the surrounding woodland and meadows. The area's great for families with older kids who can manage a decent walk without constant snacks breaks. Younger ones might find half an hour enough unless you're planning a longer hike through the woods.

It's free to visit, which helps. Allow an hour or two depending on whether you just want the viewpoint or fancy exploring the surrounding woodland trails. Avoid wet weather if you can - the ground gets boggy fast. Summer and early autumn work best when visibility's decent and the paths are drier.

If you're staying at Luna Domes nearby, this makes a straightforward morning or afternoon outing. It pairs well with exploring the villages around Edenbridge, but on its own it's more of a stop-off than a full day's attraction. Worth the detour though if walking's your thing.
