Rest And Be Thankful Memorial Stone

You'll find this weathered stone marker sitting at the top of the Rest and Be Thankful pass, between Arrochar and Glen Coe - it's been there since the 1800s, a genuine relic of the days when this was a brutal mountain crossing for travellers on foot. The stone itself is modest enough, but the setting tells the real story: you're standing at around 860 metres with views that stretch across Argyll's mountains in every direction, and you understand immediately why those old walkers needed to stop here and gather their breath.
