Saint Peter

Built from warm red sandstone, this medieval parish church stands on Bromyard's main thoroughfare, its Norman tower a proper landmark you can spot from across the market town. The interior reveals some lovely 12th-century stonework alongside Victorian additions that actually complement rather than clash with the original architecture.

History buffs will appreciate the carved capitals and the remnants of medieval wall paintings, though they're quite faded now. The wooden roof is impressive too - good craftsmanship that's weathered the centuries well. Takes about twenty minutes to have a proper look around, longer if you're the type to read every brass plaque.

Families staying at nearby parks like Redhill Holidays or Wigley Orchard will find it makes for a quick cultural stop while exploring Bromyard. The church sits right in the town centre, so you can easily combine it with a coffee and a wander round the shops.

Not spectacular enough to warrant a special journey, but if you're already in Bromyard it's worth popping your head in. The door's usually unlocked during daylight hours, and there's no admission charge. Those with mobility issues should note there are a few steps up to the entrance, though nothing too challenging.
