St Beuno's Church

The beauty of being near Welshpool means you're close to a decent concentration of holiday parks - Maes Yr Afon is barely two miles away, and the Severn Caravan Resort sits just three and a half miles off. If you're based at any of them and looking for something low-key to fill a morning, this works well. No need to plan your day around it. Just turn up and spend as long as you need.

Visit on a weekday if possible. Weekends can get a bit busier with locals, though 'busier' at a place like this still means you might see two other people. Bring decent shoes - the approach can be muddy after rain, and there's genuine countryside around you.
