Tir Comin Llangoed

You're standing on a windswept bit of Anglesey looking out toward the Menai Strait, and that's essentially what Tir Comin Llangoed is - a common land spot near Llangoed village with views across the water toward Snowdonia. It's not a formal attraction with visitor facilities or admission fees. What you get is open moorland with decent coastal vistas and the kind of place where locals walk their dogs on Saturday mornings.

Walkers will find it worth a twenty-minute detour from Beaumaris if you're exploring that corner of the island. The ground can be boggy depending on weather, so proper boots help. Families with young children might find it a bit underwhelming unless they're keen on spotting birds or collecting stones - there's no play equipment, café, or much shelter. History enthusiasts will notice the medieval Llangoed Castle ruins nearby, which adds a bit of texture to a ramble.

The real draw is how it sits within a wider Anglesey coastal walk. Base yourself at one of the nearby parks - Anglesey Sea Breeze Park comes well-reviewed if you want decent facilities - and use Tir Comin as part of a longer loop rather than a destination in itself. Beaumaris itself, just a couple of miles away, has the castle and harbour to fill a proper morning. Go on a clearer day; the views evaporate in heavy Welsh drizzle, and you're left with just moorland and wind.
