Vyrnwy Get ln - Pont Llogel

The old stone bridge at Pont Llogel is one of those quiet corners of Powys that doesn't announce itself loudly - which is rather the point. Crossing the River Vyrnwy just outside Llanfyllin, this modest landmark sits in proper hill country where the landscape rolls grey-green and unfussy. The bridge itself is sturdy, weathered masonry that's been doing its job for centuries, the kind of thing you'd walk past without thinking much if you weren't paying attention.

For walkers using the Vyrnwy Way or anyone exploring the valley, it's a logical stopping point - somewhere to pause and actually notice the water below rather than just crossing it. The surrounding area is all rural Mid Wales: fields, trees, the occasional sheep. Kids won't be bouncing off walls here, but that's not really what this is for. History types might get something from the construction, the engineering simplicity of the thing. It's the sort of place that rewards actually being present rather than ticking a box.
