Walking down to the harbour at Pittenweem, you'll spot St Adrian's tucked into the clifftop - a modest stone church that's been watching over this fishing village since medieval times. It's named after a 9th-century hermit who supposedly lived in a cave nearby, though these days the cave itself is mostly inaccessible. The church itself is small, whitewashed, and honestly feels like stepping back centuries - the sort of place where you can hear the wind properly.

This isn't a showstopper attraction with guided tours and gift shops. You're looking at a quiet parish church that locals still use, so opening hours depend on services rather than tourist schedules. Worth checking ahead, but the exterior and the setting are half the appeal anyway. Twenty minutes is enough to have a proper look around and take in the view across the East Neuk coastline.

Pittenweem itself is properly charming - working fishing village, decent fish and chips, proper seaside - and St Adrian's fits naturally into that rather than standing apart as a tourist tick-box. Go if you're in the area. Don't drive across Fife specifically for it.
