Tower Gardens

Tower Gardens sits right on Skegness's doorstep, a proper little nature reserve that punches above its weight for a seaside town. It's essentially a green space with walking trails, planted areas, and wildlife-spotting potential - the sort of place where you can actually breathe properly when the seafront gets rammed with tourists.

The reserve itself is free to wander, which is brilliant if you're staying at one of the caravan parks nearby like Skegness Seaview or Haven. You're looking at anything from thirty minutes to two hours depending on how serious you want to be about birdwatching. Spring and autumn are the best times if you care about seeing migrating species; summer's fine if you just want a quiet walk away from the amusement arcades.

Families with younger kids might find it a touch dull unless they're genuinely into nature - there's no playground or cafe, so you need to come with the right mindset. Walkers and anyone keen on East Midlands wildlife will absolutely get something from it though. The trails are flat and easy enough, which means it works well for anyone not up for tackling proper countryside hikes.

What makes it worthwhile for a park holiday is the contrast. After a few days of Butlins animation and caravan park entertainment, Tower Gardens offers actual silence and actual greenery. It's the sort of place where you remember Skegness has a genuine landscape underneath all the tourist infrastructure. Not flashy, but genuinely useful.
