Wiresytch isn't your manicured country park - it's wild Shropshire woodland at its most authentic, with muddy paths that squelch underfoot after rain and fallen logs that make excellent impromptu benches.

Families with young children might find the terrain a bit challenging, but older kids who don't mind getting their boots dirty will love the adventure of it all. The forest feels genuinely remote despite being so close to town, and on weekdays you're likely to have the place to yourself save for the odd dog walker.
