Tattershall Carr offers proper rambling through ancient forest, while Woodhall Spa Aerodrome Nature Reserve attracts birdwatchers and anyone wanting a decent walk without crowds. Tattershall Farm Park keeps families entertained, though it's more working farm than theme park - which is rather the point.

Woodhall Spa, just a short drive away, remains one of England's most elegant inland resorts. Built around natural springs, it still feels like stepping back to the 1920s. The town's famous for its golf course and the Petwood Hotel, where 617 Squadron - the Dambusters - stayed during the war.

Getting here means driving, really. The A153 connects you to Lincoln and the wider road network, though public transport is patchy at best. Most visitors base themselves at one of the area's holiday parks like Tattershall Lakes Country Park or the quieter Woodhall Country Park. From either, you can explore the Lincolnshire Wolds to the east or venture into Lincoln for cathedral views and proper city life. It's countryside living with history lurking around every corner.
