Broadhead

Broadhead is a proper hill walk rather than a destination you'll spend hours at - you're looking at a straightforward ascent from the Perth side with decent views across Fife and Tayside once you've got the legs working. It's not a dramatic peak, more a steady tramp through moorland that rewards you with sight lines towards the Ochils and beyond. The route takes a couple of hours round trip depending on fitness, so it's ideal for a morning outing before heading into Perth for lunch.

Walkers will get the most from this one. It's not technical or particularly long, which makes it good for families with children aged eight and up who've done a bit of hiking before. The moorland terrain can be boggy after rain - proper boots essential. On a clear day the visibility is genuinely good, though it can feel exposed and windswept up top, so bring layers.

If you're basing yourself at one of the nearby parks - Greenhill Farm Glamping is closest at just over three miles out - Broadhead works nicely as a morning walk before exploring Perth's town centre or venturing towards the Lomond Hills. It's not the sort of walk you'll bang on about for years, but it's solid graft with decent results and far quieter than the obvious Scottish peak-bagging routes. Worth fitting in if you've got good weather and time to kill between bigger activities.
