Lendrick Hill

The walk up Lendrick Hill rewards you with views across the Ochil Hills and out towards the Firth of Tay - proper stuff if you've got the legs for it. It's not a massive undertaking from Perth, but don't underestimate the climb. The path is well-trodden and the gradient's consistent rather than brutal, so most reasonably fit walkers will manage it in under two hours up and back.

The summit itself is a bare, grassy affair with a trig point. On a clear day you can see for miles, which makes the huffing worth it. On a grey one, you'll at least have the satisfaction of bagging another peak without the tourist crowds you'd find elsewhere in the Trossachs. Families with older kids will find it manageable; younger ones might struggle with the sustained uphill slog.

There's nothing commercialised here - no cafe, no visitor centre, no gift shop. You're paying nothing except your time and effort. Go in decent weather and you'll have a cracking afternoon. Attempt it in wind and rain and you'll wonder why you bothered.

If you're staying at one of the local glamping spots like Greenhill Farm or Fossoway Cabins, Lendrick Hill makes an excellent half-day outing before heading to the Trossachs proper or exploring Perth itself. It's the sort of walk that fills a gap between other plans rather than being the main event, but that's not a criticism - sometimes that's exactly what you need.
