Gillingshill Reservoir and Kilconquhar Loch provide peaceful spots for walking, especially when you need to escape the coastal crowds that descend during summer months. Sandyrigs Wood offers proper woodland rambling without the tourist buses.

The area's well-connected by the A915, making it dead easy to reach from Edinburgh or Dundee. St Andrews lies just 15 minutes north, while Elie and its famous sandy beach sit practically on the doorstep.

Staying at one of the nearby holiday parks makes perfect sense here. You're positioned brilliantly for exploring the entire East Neuk coastline, from the fishing villages to the championship golf courses, while having quiet countryside to retreat to when the seaside gets too busy.
